Now Available: The Handbook for Raising an Emotionally Healthy Child Part 1

Raising an Emotionally Healthy Child Part 1

It has been a few days since I have written a post because we have been busily working to get everything organized and prepared for today, the launch of our new Kindle book, The Handbook for Raising an Emotionally Healthy Child Part 1: Behavior Modification.

We are so excited about this revision and thrilled that it is now available on Kindle. In a previous blog post, I outlined the contents of Part 1. However, as we were writing the revision, we realized that it was not possible for us to include everything that we wanted readers to understand. As such, we have created a webpage loaded with supplemental materials for those who purchase the book.

These supplemental materials are free for you to print out or download as a PDF. As we work on the next two sections of the Handbook, we will be adding more supplemental resources, which you will also be able to access. It is like purchasing a book that continues to add more chapters.

The supplemental resources serve a variety of purposes. Some, like Developmental Milestones, is a reference source for you to monitor your child’s development. Others, such as Routines, offer you a step-by-step guide to implementing many of the concepts presented in the Handbook. Still others, such as Balancing Control and Reactivity, expand upon the information presented in the Handbook and offers more detail and additional examples.

At this time, here is the list of supplemental materials available to those who purchase the Handbook:

  1. Balancing Control and Reactivity
  2. Being Flexibly Firm
  3. Determining Your Parenting Style
  4. Developmental Milestones
  5. Homework Hassles
  6. How Much Stimulation is Enough?
  7. How to Use Time Out Appropriately
  8. Learning Tolerance by Choosing Your Battles
  9. Lessons in Negotiating
  10. Preparing for School
  11. Preventing Temper Tantrums
  12. Routines
  13. Teacher as the New Expert
  14. Teaching Desirable Behaviors
  15. Teaching Organizational Skills
  16. Transitions

While these resources are currently available, we already have three additional supplements that will be posted in the coming weeks, including:

  1. Taming the Wild Child
  2. Self-Regulation
  3. Outside Influences

Once you purchase the Handbook, you will have unlimited access to all of these supplemental resources, as well as any documents added in the future. It really is the perfect gift for any parent.

If you are interested in learning more about the contents of Part 1, click here to check out the previous blog post. There I provided a detailed outline of the chapters and the overall purpose of this section. In the coming months, we will finalize and publish Part 2: Attention, which focuses on parent-child interactions.

If you would like to purchase Part 1 of the Handbook, click on this link and you can download it immediately to any device with the Kindle app.
