I always find it difficult to answer questions about TV viewing in children. While children certainly should not be allowed to sit around and watch TV for hours, some viewing may help children as they develop through the toddler and early childhood years. This article highlights research that has found Sesame Street to have positive effects on child development.

After a year of preparing, students have finally completed all of their state mandated testing  Much to our dismay, however, many of the tests that consumed so much of our educational time are now being thrown out! In this week’s column we talk about why the test scores are being discarded and reiterate our concern about high stakes testing.
