The Psychodynamics of Social Media with Dr. Aaron Balick

Welcome to The Mental Breakdown and Psychreg Podcast! Today, Dr Berney and Dr Marshall interview Dr. Aaron Balick, author of The Psychodynamics of Social Media. Aaron is a psychotherapist, supervisor, and cultural theorist specialising in the understanding of modernity through depth psychology. He is an honorary senior lecturer at the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex and is a founding member and former chair of The Relational School, UK. Aaron is the author of two books, The Psychodynamics of Social Networking: connected up instantaneous culture and the self (2014, Karnac) and the children’s self-help book Keep your Cool: how to deal with life’s worries and stress (2013, Hachette). His third, The Little Book of Calm (Penguin) is due out early 2018. He is the director of Stillpoint Spaces London, which aims to apply depth psychology outside the consulting room.
